I had a poster project for a didgital graphic design coarse I took to bolster my resume, and so this is what I worked up. The instructor loved the idea of using my comic work and characters for the projects so here's what I came up with XD
Also I finally have a decent title to the story LOL.
you mean the one with the black hair? Ketsua Kekagami. He is able to see the dead and just befriends the ghost of a Kitashi, which is the whispy kitashi that's behind him. XD Thanks! XD
Oh wow this is so amazing. You should probably use that sorta style for front covers for your comics, its extremly eye catching which is a brilliant thing. Also on the ghost kitashis hat what does the scrap of paper mean or do. Is it like a spirit ward....or something (I know if it was a spirit ward on himself its kindda self defeating but ya know what I mean)

you're on the right track Xd It's the curse. Togasai is a ghost but he does not remember dieing or any of his past life. He also can't cross over to the other side, even though he is at peace, and he also can't come back. It turns out that he was cursed to turn bodily into a spirit thus depriving him of the right to die, so he can't die so he can't cross over, but he can't life to finish out his life so he is stuck as a shade and left to try and piece together his life and find out how to undo the curse.
That slip of paper has the curse, and no, ripping it up, tearing it off, or doing anything to it is useless. XD He's gonna be an interesting character when he comes in XD
Hey, thanks for the interest and the complement my friend XD
Welcome. Just stuck out as interesting. Plus there often seems to b similar spirit ward type or curse type slips like that in japanese anime involving either shinto priests, orrrrrr just general ghost fighting. Is that the general preffered form of ward?

yea, that comes from Chinese Daoism and it adapted into Shinto very quickly. Both the Japanese and the Chinese place a belief in magic in their writing and calligraphy. Paper talismans like that could do any number of things it was believed, depending on the spell that was written and the use of the talisman, spirit warding, exorcism, healing the sick, cursing, control of the elements, any of it can be done in that method.
The way I understand it, it is basically a belief that the talisman contains the power of will, solidified by the fact that it is in writing. The style of the lettering is important too. Calligraphers in Japan find lots of work casting spells.
OOooooooo. That would certainly be an interesting proffesion no ? 'Lv 5 speel caster at your service now wheres the cookies, I was promised cookies for this gig and I want them before you get ma paper '
